My hope is in the lord
Praise God for all his goodness, for his mercies and for his love. I thank him for life and for the hope of salivation he has given me through faith.
I thank Jesus for everything for I know he has done so much for me. I thank him for life, for he has given me life and the hope salivation in him.
I was thinking and contemplating, and reflecting on the goodness of God, his mercies and his love. This is what came out of this reflection, The Lord is my hope, My hope is in the Lord. I thought about the whole thing, and I learned that my hope comes from the Lord God.
This is what I declared after my reflection. Jesus you are my God and my salivation. You are the Lord of Lord, and the King of King. You are the beginning , and you are the end, you are the alpha and omega. You are the one who was, is and going to come. Jesus, you are my strength, and my shield. You are the source of hope, and I will declare on this particular day saying my hope is in you, Jesus!
I continued thinking and contemplating about the goodness, the mercy and the love of the Lord , and I came up with many statements. I said, Yes Jesus my hope comes from you. I look for some scriptures that will help me put my thought in the right perspective. These are the scriptures I find , In one place David indicated God is his hope saying " Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved." Psalms 62: 1-6.
Another place the same writer indicated his hope is in the lord saying, " Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am. 5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. 6 Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. 7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee." Psalms 39:4-7.
When I continued I find more scriptures that talks about hope. These are some of them and they are the most powerful once. " For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope " Romans 15:4. Another one said, " For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." Romans 8:24-25. Another one said, " Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." Romans 12:12
Praise God for his words and everything that is in his words. I was blessed to learn about what God says about hope. The more I thought it, I am persuaded to say a true hope comes from the Lord Jesus. It is true , and I said true hope comes from God.
Some times we may tend to think we may find strength, hope, peace , and joy through our effort or from what we do, but that is not the case. True hope, strength, peace and joy comes from the Lord God. We may think we may find all these things from this life , or from this world we are living, but not really. I believe all these things are the gift of God . Therefore, they only come from God. I am not here to say we shouldn't put high standard, and work hard to achieve goals we set, or aspire to do what we believe is right , or put effort in everything we do. What I am trying to say is God is the source of our strength, and hope.
In fact I believe we always have to set high standard to live our life, and we have to work hard to achieve the goals we set, put a lot of effort to do well in what we do, do all the things we believe is right to do. I believe we need to have the right mind set and set high standard in all what we do for God would use them to extend these things to us. Le me stop these extended thoughts , and go back to the initial thoughts, my hope comes from God.
In the process came a song to my mind, " My hope is in the Lord.". I stopped there , and said Yes, my hope is in the Lord. I searched for the song and began to listen to it for it says my hope is in the Lord. I hope you know the song, Its a children song, but I love it.
