Wait, I said on the Lord

Blessed be the name of Jesus for all his goodness, for his mercies and for his love. I thank him for life and for the hope of salivation I have in him. I thank him for everything for it is written, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. “1 Thessalonian

That is the very reason why we need to come to his court, to give him the praise and the worship he deserve from us. We need to come to him knowing each day is a gift from him. That is why we need to come to God to give him all the glory and the honor he deserves. He deserves our worship, appreciation for he is good and his mercies endures forever.

This is a word came to my mind , and made me to stop, think, and contemplate. I was thinking and contemplating about the goodness of God upon my life and about all the things he has thought me along the path of life.

"Wait upon the Lord, be of a good courage" is the word that came to my mind and made me to stop and think. Off course I spend some time to think, pray and search for more understanding about this word. This is what I said after I enquire and search for the word of God," we need to learn to wait upon the Lord.

I was fully convinced and persuaded that we need to wait upon the Lord. W need to learn to wait upon the Lord in whatever situation we are in and what ever need we have from him. I believed its a will of God for us to wait upon him.

The first thing I did after the word came to my mind was to go and search for what God says about waiting upon him. In one place its written “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalms 27: 14. This is what the writer of this book said at the end of his writing. We would learn and understand what David was saying when we read the entire chapter.

When we look at the chapter closely we would learn many lessons for we would find many powerful statements and declaration. We would see affirmation at the beginning for he began saying, "The Lord is his light and his salivation", The Lord is the strength of his heart, and he shall not fear" . Soon after we would find statement of expressing his desire for he said, " there is one thing I have desired of the Lord that I may seek after, I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life"

The whole chapter is filled with statement , and declaration of his faith , and trust in God, prayer , worship, plea , expression of desire. We would find statement of expressing his appreciation for the goodness and protection of the Lord, prayer for seeking the way of the Lord, also expression of sadness for he was accused wrongly , and the unjust treatment at the end of the chapter. Then he came up with the final statement he made. He indicated though all these things are happening he encouraged himself, saying “I said wait upon the Lord"

I believe anyone who read this chapter would find points and statement that he/she can relate. The good thing is everything that is written it is written for our own learning. Therefore, we need to read, learn and find lesson and encouragement from what is written. What is written in the bible always help us learn about God, his ways, his commandments, his instruction, his statutes , and also his wonderful promises.

The thing is God has given us his word to guide and direct us to him, to his promises. He gave us his word for he knows the path we may find ourselves passing. The fact and the truth is we would find ourselves walking in various avenues in life . He knows the valleys, and the mountains. He knows about all the challenges, the problems, the temptations, the failure we encounter, the rejection we face, the frustration we may face, the disappointment , the sadness we encounter as a result of seeing the wrong doings. He knows all the path we are passing through.

In fact the is the very reason why he want us to learn his word for he would use his word to help us, encourage , guide and strength us. The word of God would help to know him, to learn his ways, and to learn to walk with him and to continue walking with him.

These are some of the word of God I find when I searched. In one place its written "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint“ Isaiah 40:31 We need to wait upon the Lord for its written those wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

Another one said, “ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalms 37:7-9 Another one said. " I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope." Psalms 130:5 Another one said. " Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths." Psalms 25:4-5 Another one said, " For the vision yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3

As I indicated the path is not always smooth and straight. However , when we build our faith in God , we need to learn to wait upon him. How many times we find ourselves lacking patience we need to wait upon the Lord though we know God has given us promises. How many times we find ourselves passing through some tough times through we know God spoke to us , or he has give us provision to trust him and to wait upon him.

How many times we find ourselves lacking faith to wait upon the Lord, though we know he is a faithful God to all what he said. The truth is waiting upon the Lord at times is not as easy task as we say it. Waiting upon the Lord is often a very difficult task especially when we know we are living in the world there is so much going on. Waiting upon God is not that easy when we know we are living in the world that is filled with diverse knowledge, and voices. Waiting on the Lord could be a very difficult task when we know we are living in the world there is so much need.

However, no matter what happened, no matter the situation we find ourselves in to, we need to learn to trust God and to learn to wait upon the Lord. I believe this is what we need to learn in our path, to learn to trust him and wait upon him.

This is what I said at the end agreeing with God says. He said, " Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

I encourage you to wait upon the Lord and learn to wait upon the Lord for he is a faithful God.
