God Remembers His Covenant
Blessed be the name of Jesus for all his goodness, for his mercies, and for his love. I am grateful for the life he has given me. I am grateful for he has given me a food to eat, a place to live and a work to do. I am more grateful for the hope of salivation he has given me through faith in him.
I was sitting down to reflect on the day for it is a new day of a New Year 2018. The only thing comes out of my mind and my heart is gratitude. I am grateful to God for what he has done for me in the year 2017. He has done so many things I could not even count them all. I am grateful for he kept me from falling, and he gave me grace to do all what I purposed to do in the year 2017. I am grateful he was with me all the way through 2017. He was with me in all my ups and downs. He was with me and holding my hand when I was passing though all I was passing through throughout the year. I praise his name.
The truth is we are passing through different things in a day to day, time to time and year to year basis. The good thing is, God would use this time to make us and break it. Eventually he would use it to make our life, shape and mold it. He would use the opportunity to create a character that will take us further in life. The most important thing to remember when we are passing through tough path, God is always be with us. He would be with us when we are passing through in whatever path we are passing through. He said, “ But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 43:1-2
The truth sometimes we find ourselves passing through some smooth path where we would find ourselves being happy, exited and motivated, and grateful to God for he has given us favour. Sometimes we may find ourselves passing through some tough path. Naturally passing through some tough path is not a pleasant experience. The truth is no one wants to pass through some tough path, or through the water, or through the fire. Passing through some valise, and through the mountains is not an easy and pleasant experience because the experience could be painful.
The truth is passing though is a process and it might take time to go through the things you are going through. Passing through something is not an easy experience for it is a place where there is uncertainty. It is a place where there is lack of faith, and courage, and lack of energy. It is a place where one would find nothing to depend. Passing through is a place where there once emotion would be checked for there will be heart, discouragement, confusion, anger, disappointment, and all kinds of negative feelings.
However, passing through is a natural process of growth for it is a time one will learn to depend on God. Passing through is a place where one will learn a practical lesson in life .It is a place where one will learn all what he has in life. Passing through is a process one’s life is going to be cheeked, and eventually one’s life would be made. It is a process God would use to humble us for himself. It is a process that would take away all the things we depend on and teach us to depend only in him. It is a process that he would use to our all what we have within, all the good and the bad. He would use the process to take out pride, and other kinds of things we have in our flesh and humble us. It is also a process he uses to take out all the good things he placed in us. It is a process he would use to shape, and mold our character.
The truth is we will never understand the true essence of life, and the purpose of life if God don’t allow us to pass through some tough times. We will never understand ourselves and others if we don’t pass through some of these path. It is a time our patience, our integrity, our dedication, commitment, our passion, love and more importantly our faith in God will be tasted. The good thing is God will never test to fail us, but he allowed it so that we will learn to trust in him. Our faith would be tested and be purified as one of the writer indicated saying, “9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God. Zachariah 13:9 Another writer alluded the same point saying,” That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 1 peter 1:7.
I am grateful to God and what he has done for me in 2017. I am grateful for his endless mercy and his great love that enables me to stand. I am grateful for the grace he has given me to do what I purposed to do in past year. I am grateful for providing me all the opportunity to pass through various paths, the smooth ones, as well as the tough ones. I am grateful for holding my hand, guided me through the tough times. I am grateful got giving me grace to have some good and memorable times through the year. I am grateful to all the people I met, for the people who for all the people became a blessing in my life, and for the people who taught me lessons in my life. I am grateful for everything and give thanks to God for I know this is the will of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, I give thanks to him in everything. I give thanks to God for the things he has done and even for the things he hasn’t done. I will give all the glory and the honour to Jesus for he is the only true God and eternal life!
