My presentation @ the University of Winnipeg Collegiate

Working on this project, "A journey back to Sedika from Winnipeg" was an amazing learning experience. It has been almost two years since I started working on this project. I am grateful for meet so many wonderful people, who became an inspiration for me to work and keep on working to achieve the objectives that was set by the project.
Many amazing and inspiring stories came out of this Journey. I received many encouraging feed backs from people.
Recently I was invited to do a short presentation at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate . I had connection with the Collegiate during my studies at the University of Winnipeg between 2012 -2016. I taught some science lesson for one of the program the collegiate runs during the school year. The collegiate annually invite selected students, elementary and high school students mostly from Winnipeg 1 School Division through the program they run. The program was designed with the hope of provide an exciting, engaging experience that will motivate and inspire students come to this program. These lessons as i indicated are not lessons students would learn in a traditional classrooms setting. The lessons are unique for they are engaging, and involves simple experiments.
So, during my stay at the University I was invited by the collegiate to participate in teaching some of these science lessons. In 2015 I together with one of my friend from the University of Winnipeg taught some science lessons through the program.
This time I went to the collegiate for different reason. I went to share my experience working on the project , A Journey back to Sedika from Winnipeg. I was invited by the director of the collegiate come and share my experience with a group of students who are interested in community work . I was told by the director these students are taking a course that requires them to involves in some volunteer activities. That means students need to look for organisation or project in community development or work related to social work and volunteer for certain amount of time.
So, I went to do my presentation about the project. What happen is if students find the project interest, I would arrange for a volunteer opportunity in the next event I plan to organise. I was happy and Excited to share my experience with them and answer some of the questions they came up with. Sharing my experience working on this project with the Collegiate staff and students is a wonderful learning experience.
